Our History

Conceived by Ronald E. Burback and Robert Bollinger, Funtastic Shows, Inc. secured contracts for the Multnomah County (Portland), Oregon and Southwest Washington (Chehalis) Fairs in 1971. Achieving demonstrable success with both fairs, the corporation was founded in 1973. Mr. Bollinger retired in 1985.

Today, Funtastic Shows operates two to three complete carnival operations weekly during the season in Oregon and Washington. In addition, Funtastic Shows, Inc. owns and operates a 15-acre permanent winter quarters in southeast Portland, Oregon.

The repair and maintenance complex features a 30,000 sq. ft. warehouse, state-of-the-art paint shop and a 5,000 sq. ft. corporate office staffed by 35 full-time employees.

Major events Funtastic Shows, Inc. has played during three decades of service include the Oregon State Fair, the Washington State Fair in Puyallup, Washington, many county fairs and other diverse events.
